Today we are going to discuss the government-go-to-market strategy. This is a pivotal topic to learn before we start to invest and market into the Government. There are three paths, which includes:

Direct

In this case, you work as a prime contractor as the government gives you the contract directly.

Indirect

Indirect means that you are going to be a subcontractor, which means another company will be the prime contractor that receives the contract from the government and hires you to do a portion of this contract.

Combination

A combination strategy is one where you can deploy the aforementioned two strategies simultaneously to ramp up your level of activities into the Government.

The Decision

The first thing that we should do is identify what the Government prefers to buy and then decide if you want to sell your product or services as a prime contractor, subcontractor, or a combination of the two.
